Overview

RTI International seeks a prospect for the Financial Analyst Internship within the Contracts and Finance Organization.

This internship is a contract position. The employment contract is administered by Greene Resources Powered by Array, RTI's supplemental staffing partner.

This opportunity will provide experience in the RTI Finance organization as well as exposure to the Federal government contracting industry. Intern will gain skills in finance and budgeting, critical thinking/problem solving skills, and communicating and collaboration in a team environment.

The Financial Analyst Intern will play a key role in supporting the Pricing team's budget and cost proposal development processes across multiple RTI business units.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in RTI's onboarding process to learn RTI's financial processes and procedures.
  • Review documents to identify financial or contractual risk issues.
  • Accurately prepare budgets and financial reports in a timely manner.
  • Compile documentation to submit business proposals to a variety of clients including federal and state governments, international organizations, commercial firms, and foundations.
  • Update data in financial forecasting software and obtain necessary review by financial analyst and manager.
  • Collaborate with RTI pricing analysts on a variety of proposals.
  • Perform other duties and cross training as assigned.

RTI's Internship Program emphasizes experiential and mentored learning experiences. Interns are exposed to the institute's mission to improve the human condition through projects, professional development trainings, and networking. Program participants have opportunities to engage with staff and fellow interns virtually and in-person. Each summer, interns are encouraged to participate in RTI's annual internship showcase. Additional Information

This is a paid internship. The position can be fully remote or hybrid. The internship duration is May 2025 through September 2025. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week. Hours are flexible during business hours, Monday through Friday.


Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Current or rising junior/senior enrolled in a 4-year university, majoring in business, finance, economics, or accounting.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Related experience and/or interest in government contracting, financial analysis, project management, and/or risk assessment.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing circumstances, priorities, and environments, while maintaining effectiveness and focus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Adobe and the ability to compile PDFs into one single document
  • Analytical skills, accuracy with work, and attention to detail.
  • Capable of working independently and with teammates to complete business proposals in coordination with members from the technical, contractual, financial and administrative units.
  • Ability to search share drives, internal website, or other databases.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and learning.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement.
