Job Title:Process Engineer

Location:Roanoke Rapids, NC

Job Summary:

The primary focus for this position will be in carbide and ceramic manufacturing with an emphasis on grinding and special deburring processes with a focus to improve current processes and support the development and transition of new products. This position works to support North American inserts manufacturing.

Key Job Responsibilities:




  • Assure all EHS guidelines and requirements are met to promote a safe working environment.
  • Provide on-site assistance to improve equipment efficiency, product quality, and plant productivity.
  • Write proposals for funding capital purchases and coordinate installation and testing of equipment.
  • Create CNC programs for grinding machines, maintain database for the CNC programs
  • Design and develop fixtures as per requirement.
  • 3D modelling and 3D printing
  • Develop and lead projects with a focus on scrap reduction and productivity losses.
  • Perform root cause analysis on EHS deficiencies, internal defects and customer returns.
  • Work with purchasing and outside vendors to obtain necessary materials and equipment.
  • Work with internal customers both in the facility and at other plant locations to improve delivery.
  • Troubleshoot the issues on manufacturing processes and machines with root cause analysis and provide long-term solution
  • Establish item routings and bill of materials using SAP data processing.
  • Author and publish work instructions and quality control plans.
  • Provide training in areas of responsibility, monitoring the proficiency of the workforce.
  • Work with the audit functions to verify compliance to the plant's quality standard.
  • Automated, robotic equipment troubleshooting


Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates




  • Minimum bachelor's degree in mechanical / manufacturing Engineering
  • 3+ years relevant industry experience in manufacturing metal working environment
  • Experience in mass production environment with automated equipment
