Assistant Teaching Professor of Elementary Education

We are seeking to add to an already strong teaching faculty who work to design learning opportunities that demonstrate a clear commitment to serving all students, including adult learners. We invite applicants to join our college as a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor in Elementary Education within the Department of Teacher Preparation and Educational Studies.

Responsibilities include teaching on-campus and online undergraduate and graduate education courses; supervising elementary field experiences; collaborating with colleagues to design courses with a focus on promoting educational equity; and serving the university, the profession, and the community.

Possible areas of specialization include educational foundations, elementary assessment, classroom management, content-specific methods, or instructional technology. We are looking for a dynamic faculty member eager to aid in field placement supervision and collaborate on initiatives related to elementary teaching and learning with our school and state partners.

This position is a nine-month appointment, with possible summer employment. Salary and benefits are competitive.

* Earned doctorate (or ABD) in elementary education or related field, or a master's degree plus 18 semester hours in elementary education with related experience

* At least three years of K-6 classroom teaching experience
* Understanding of evidence-based approaches to elementary instruction, including an awareness of current trends in the field
