Primary Purpose:
Supports the safe, reliable, and economical maintenance and construction of the high voltage electric grid by providing a wide range of administrative support to the department.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Schedule and coordinate compliance related maintenance activities as directed by the supervisor.
  • Develop and maintain schedules, outages and construction support, and other related technical documentation such as construction standards for capital projects.
  • Provide administrative support to grid operations, supervisors, and field employee on scheduling jobs to include coordinating, scheduling meetings, and following up on action items.
  • Perform administrative support to the department to include note taking and scheduling safety and project meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).


Hybrid Schedule:



  • Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow the employee to work onsite three days per week and remotely on the remaining workdays.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.


Required Qualifications:



  • H.S. Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years experience in Electric Operations, construction, or customer services.
  • Ability to understand and support the development and maintenance of project schedules.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and demonstrate excellent coordination with other groups whose business directly affects our substations.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work individually as well as work within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of the outage coordination scheduling system, construction scheduling and SDG&E Kearny operations activities.
  • Knowledge of SDG&E's scheduling practices and procedures, an understanding of electric system dynamics specifically relating to high voltage operations, highly desired.
  • Computer skills related to the use of Word, Excel, Project and general database applications.
  • Knowledge of NERC, WECC, CPUC and CAISO maintenance practices, internal procedures and policies.
