What You Will Do:

As a Senior Water Resources / Hydraulics Engineer at Gannett Fleming's Raleigh NC office, you will provide oversight to design teams, monitor progress and provide guidance, responsible for final check and accuracy of design deliverables. The successful candidates will have demonstrated success in the supervision and coordination of civil engineering designs, drawings and technical specifications. Responsibilities will include: assigning individual work tasks and providing guidance to team members focused in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, storm sewer analysis, stormwater engineering design master drainage planning, groundwater analyses and related projects. This position will be based in our Raleigh NC office.

The successful Water Resources / Hydraulics Engineer will also be responsible for

  • Preparing stormwater management plans and reports
  • Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, BMPs, erosion control plans and other civil infrastructure design
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, using a variety of techniques and models (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PC-SWMM, etc.)
  • Prepare written reports, such as flood study narratives and watershed reports
  • Oversight of project teams and client management
Education | Experience:
  • B.S. Degree or higher in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related Engineering field), with emphasis in water resources.
  • 8-15 years water resources-related experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of North Carolina
  • Direct knowledge of Wetland and Stream permitting requirements for NCDOT required
  • Direct experience developing stormwater management plans for NCDOT projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hydrology and open channel hydraulics.
  • Proficiency in HEC-RAS, HY-8, ArcGIS, GeoPak is required and knowledge of StormCAD strongly preferred
  • NCDOT Erosion Control Certification preferred
  • Ability to interact with our clients and work on cross-functional teams is essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
