Provide technical and administrative support to the EHS department with a focus on the prevention of workplace injuries & illnesses and environmental spills and releases which could adversely impact soil, air or water. The individual must be detail oriented and organized with the ability to effectively communicate to front line employees, supervisors and site management. Key Responsibilities
Complete classroom and on the job training for EHS topics such as: New Employee Orientation, Hazard Communication, Lockout-Tagout, Hearing Conservation, Emergency Plans/drills etc. File training records and update tracking spreadsheets. Write, update or present at supervisor tool box talks.Update and write (with guidance) plant EHS policies and programs such as: Emergency Plan, Hazardous Waste Plan, Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection and Worksite Specific Procedures, PPE Assessments, Lockout-Tagout procedures, etc.Create EHS task specific work instructions. Compile, input and track performance of Behavior Based Safety observations and 4 Track audits in excel. Provide performance measurement to site management.Upload and update 8D system for recordable injuries and environmental incidents.Participate and occasionally lead safety committee meetings and follow up on corrective actions to ensure effectiveness.Complete wastewater sampling on a routine basis. Input sample data and analytical into tracking sheet.Perform safety inspections for routine hazard identification and work with site management and maintenance on resolution. Audit environmental processes such as hazardous waste storage, stormwater storage, chemical inventory and air permit logs. Complete dedicated audits for PPE compliance, secondary container labeling, safetyposters/labels/procedures, machine guarding. With guidance, conduct industrial hygiene sampling (air contaminants and noise). Conduct ergonomic reviews of equipment. Provide shop level support for recordable injury investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action.Be a consistent presence on the shop floor at all Modine Grenada facilities.Possess self-motivation, leadership, strong team skills, maintain a positive attitude, and possess a high level of integrity.
