Job Description

Electrical Engineer - HYBRID

You will join our Electrical Department

As our new Electrical Engineer, you will be part of our Engineering Department, which consists of a multi-discipline design/engineering staff focused on the industrial manufacturing and water and wastewater treatment markets. You will work closely with our Lead Electrical Engineers, focusing on engineering solutions for our clients and supporting projects in offices across the US. Your responsibility will be to provide electrical engineering designs and support over the project's total life cycle, including from technical studies, front-end loading stages, detailed engineering design, constructability reviews, and construction support.

The Electrical Engineer will perform complex assignments requiring the application of advanced engineering knowledge for an entire project or selected segments of a complete project. The individual must be capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying advanced engineering knowledge, procedures, and criteria to make significant design decisions and direct the entire design team.

The ideal candidate should have at least 8 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on water and wastewater treatment, industrial, and manufacturing facilities.

Your core responsibilities will include

Electrical Design and Engineering:

  • Review and analyze project requirements, codes, and standards to ensure compliance with regulations and client specifications.
  • Perform design calculations and prepare technical reports, and specifications.
  • Develop engineering drawings utilizing Autodesk Revit and AutoCad.
  • Power Distribution Systems Design and Engineering based on the National Electrical Code and on Client Specifications.
  • Facility Lighting Systems Design and Engineering
  • Grounding Systems Design and Engineering
  • Power Panel Schedule Development
  • Motor Control System Design and Engineering
  • Process Instrumentation Wiring Diagrams and Schedules
  • Prepares proposals and fee estimates.

Project Leadership:

  • Serves as project electrical lead engineer to deliver engineering projects in accordance with client and Ramboll standards and agreed upon schedules.
  • Communicates effectively with the project team, including outside contacts, customers, and other engineering departments.
  • Mentors early career Electrical Engineers and Designers.
  • Acts as a leader in implementing and promoting health and safety requirements and guidance.
  • Effectively utilizes established quality control processes and regularly communicates project status to the project manager or project owner.
  • Commitment to delivering high quality work products to our clients, demonstrating an ability to develop less experienced employees or an ability to develop client relationships.
  • Electrical Engineers may be designated as a Project Manager for Electrical engineering projects.

Construction Support:

  • Review shop drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections as required to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.
  • Develop construction cost estimates
  • Develop construction closeout punch lists

Skills

  • Understands and applies electrical engineering fundamentals.
  • Proficient with drawing production tools such as REVIT, AutoCAD.
  • Experience with power systems modeling software such as SKM, Power tools, or ETAP.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Works very effectively in teams.
  • Capability to make quick and sometimes tough decisions. Develop opportunities for individuals to work together. Encourages and seeks out feedback.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 8 -10 Years of experience in the industrial engineering market.
