Under the general direction of the RCFFP Director, the Assistant Director provides leadership and oversight to the Resource Center for Family-Focused Practice, which operates with an annual budget of $5 million. This position supervises a team of Program Specialists (PES IV's) responsible for delivering key programmatic outcomes, including curriculum development, training facilitation, and technical assistance in the realm of child welfare services. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director to ensure high-quality service delivery, effective budget management, and adherence to contractual obligations.
This role is instrumental in setting the strategic direction of the RCFFP, monitoring project management practices, evaluating program quality, and supporting the professional growth of the Program Specialists.
This role will work collaboratively with the Director to manage RCFFP operations, oversee project management practices, evaluate the effectiveness of deliverables, and support program growth. The Assistant Director will act as a key advisor and partner to the Director in setting organizational direction and priorities.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, public administration, or a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Supervisory/management experience and skills in supporting, directing and developing staff members. Knowledge of leadership best practices, including trust building and psychological safety.
- Professional experience in workforce development, product development, training and development or related area. Experience in curriculum design and development for professional training.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in outreach, new business development, and/or partnership development.
- Significant (or extensive) experience in project management, overseeing complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to lead others in planning and implementation efforts.
- Experience with administrative, budgetary, and human resources principles and practices.
- Demonstrated experience with adult learning principles and practices, including curriculum design, instructional methodologies, or facilitating professional development for diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of child welfare systems, including kin-first culture, family engagement, and trauma-informed practices. Knowledge of state-level child welfare policies and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- LCSW or MSW
- Experience managing budgets, evaluating financial performance, and recommending adjustments.
- Program leadership experience in an entrepreneurial educational context.
- Experience working in highly collaborative work environments.
- Experience evaluating program effectiveness and implementing continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership skills, including staff supervision and team development.
- Working knowledge of evaluation best practices in organizational development.
- Capability to chart a vision and strategy for a portfolio.
- Advanced ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
