Job Summary and Responsibilities

SUMMARY

Supervises and coordinates the engineering activities to include costing, estimating, pricing, and quoting; the assignment and control of customer orders and the activities of assigned engineers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Directly supervises engineering and support employees in the assigned location (s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with KGPCo policies and applicable laws and procedures. Responsibility includes interviewing and selecting new employees, training employees, coordinating with lead engineer to assign and direct work, appraising and performance, addressing complaints and disciplining employees.
  • Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation in order to implement process improvements to maximize timeliness and accuracy of site surveys, engineering specifications and other customer records.
  • Supervise engineers that generate site surveys and specifications detailing the addition, removal, modification of telecommunications equipment and systems in regulated and non-regulated utility central offices, remote structures and cable companies.
  • Coordinates with lead Engineer(s) to receive approved customer orders and assigns to engineering for site survey and detail engineering. Keeps track of orders and to whom they are assigned.
  • Reviews data to determine material, engineering and labor requirements for cost and prepare itemized lists as required.
  • Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals as needed to ensure job schedule is maintained.
  • Analyzes customer communications needs and recommend equipment as needed.
  • Consults with TEO Specialist and customer personnel to establish scope of work to include most efficient use of bay framework, cable racking, BDBF/PBD for power and MDF frame for termination of equipment.
  • Determines the site survey and specification due date to coincide with job schedule to meet operations needs to complete project by customers requested complete data.
  • Utilizes various software programs, spreadsheets, reports and databases as required to manage workgroup to ensure maximum profitability and positive results for KGPCo.
  • Supports TL9000


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree and / or a minimum of six years industry related experience or a satisfactory combination of education and experience.
  • Think critically and problem solve.
  • Handle confidential/ sensitive information with discretion.
  • Good judgment.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications engineering, equipment, and installation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Skills in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and creating/editing drawings.

Supervisory Responsibility

Directly supervises engineering and support employees in the assigned location(s). Responsibility includes interviewing and selecting new employees, training employees, coordinates with lead engineer to assign and direct work, appraising and performance, addressing complaints and disciplining employees.

Pay Range in the United States: $73K - $108K based upon geography, skills, and experience. May also be eligible for performance incentive opportunity based on company and individual goals and performance
