JMT Technology Group, a leading geospatial and information technology solutions provider, is looking for a Software Asset Manager. The Software Asset Manager will be responsible for the daily support and execution of software asset and license management. The Software Asset Manager will oversee all software asset lifecycle activities, optimizing the value, cost and risk of JMT software.

Compensation for this position is $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience, education and certifications.

Essential functions and responsibilities



  • Accountable to ensure new entitlement purchases, true-ups, and maintenance renewals, including maintenance of contract pricing and negotiated terms.
  • Detailed knowledge of, and experience managing several software licensing models
  • Handle lifecycle stages of software assets from initial request - purchasing, deployment, maintenance - through removal from service.
  • Collaborate to ensure licensing contracts are optimized based on usage and predicted consumption.
  • Initiate software asset management conversations with stakeholders, perform inventory assessments, match software with license entitlements, and create comprehensive software asset management plans.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders and Service Owners to help them understand and control their software licensing costs, avoiding legal pitfalls related to licensing.
  • Develop and analyze reconciliation reports to resolve required actions to address non-compliant software installations.
  • Understand impact of maintenance / assurance, support contracts and requirements.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in planning, business, public administration, engineering, or related field
  • 3 - 5 years working as an IT Asset Manager
  • 5 years working with asset management tools


Preferred Experience



  • Experience in process improvement and optimizing asset management workflows
  • Knowledge of hardware asset management


Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Travel to customer sites may be required.
