Job Summary TYLin is seeking a Water Program Lead to join our TYLin Water team in Buffalo, NY. We're looking for a leader with who is an engineer/designer/planner with a passion for water equity, environmental justice, to create and manage sustainable, community-driven solutions. What You'll Do:
As a Water Program Lead, you will:

  • Plan and Execute Projects: Oversee the planning, design and implementation of cutting-edge water, wastewater, and climate resiliency infrastructure projects. These may include combined sewer systems, real-time smart sewer controls, and wastewater treatment enhancements.

  • Collaborate on Community Engagement: Advance public outreach initiatives with local community partners, organize stakeholder workshops, and build partnerships with local organizations to promote water equity and environmental justice.

  • Support Program Management: Oversee project controls, planning, conceptual design, and implementation, ensuring seamless project delivery under the guidance of the Program Manager.

  • Mentor and Lead Teams: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to design team staff, fostering professional growth within the team, and building a local presence.

  • Drive Funding Initiatives: Assist with grant writing and funding strategies to support critical infrastructure investments.

  • National Collaboration: Partner with TYLin's Equity Practice group to advance socially equitable and community-informed water and climate projects across the country.

Who You Are:

  • Educational Background: B.S. in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering or a degree level education in Urban Planning or Environmental Science.

  • Experience: 10+ years in water/wastewater design, climate resiliency, municipal infrastructure consulting, or infrastructure planning. Experience and knowledge of hydraulic calculations/modeling, utility plans, construction documents, land use/easements, and city/environmental/regulatory agencies is desirable.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead projects and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including structural, geotechnical, environmental specialists, public engagement and communications partners.

  • Licensed Professional: PE license, AICP License or actively working toward licensure is preferred.

  • Collaborative and Passionate: A team player who thrives on solving challenges and driving community-centered solutions.

  • Willing to Travel: Open to occasional travel for client meetings and industry events.

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of$128,000 - $230,000 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer.
