Intern, Field Maintenance

MWRA, INTERN, Field Maintenance, Southborough, MA

The MWRA has an opening for an internship to perform routine skilled and manual tasks as assigned. Assist operations and maintenance and skilled trades as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform manual tasks required to assist grounds foreman, mechanics, electricians, masons, plumbers and other skilled tradesman.
• Assist with preventative and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Assist on upkeep and cleaning of MWRA equipment, grounds and roadways.
• Performs general housekeeping and maintenance tasks.
• Works as a member of a multi-person crew.
• Performs related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic reading, writing, mathematical and oral communication skills.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Working knowledge of the use of common tools, construction and sewer maintenance
• Ability to operate light automotive equipment and power driven grounds maintenance equipment.
• A valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicles Operators License.

• Work Location: MWRA - Southborough, MA
• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
• Time Frame: May - September
