THE JOB:
As the Assistant General Manager at Blossom, you will partner with the General Manager to lead the operations of the restaurant. You'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth daily operations of this high-end dining experience, overseeing staff, guest satisfaction, and the overall success of the venue. This role is perfect for an experienced hospitality leader who is passionate about guest service and restaurant management, and who thrives in an upscale dining environment.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Lead and manage daily restaurant operations, fiscal budgets, labor productivity, scheduling, inventory control, guest service standards, and execution of marketing strategies to produce short-term profitability

  • Execute on the restaurant's business plan and assist General Manager with developing and executing tactics to achieve goals and targets

  • Responsible for execution of policies, operating procedures, training programs, directives, menus, rules and regulations for the restaurant staff

  • Maintain the highest standards of health, sanitation and cleanliness within all areas of Beverage

  • Assist General Manager with managing Human Resources responsibilities for Restaurant to include: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback (coaching and counseling), recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning process that encompass the company's diversity commitment; adherence to the company's status quo third party representation philosophy; compliance with company policies, legal requirements, employment law, and collective bargaining agreements

  • Interacts with guests frequently to ensure satisfaction and enjoyment of dining experience

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Two years of experience in fine dining or upscale luxury restaurant

  • Background in Asian cuisine

  • Bilingual in Chinese dialect, preferred Mandarin or Cantonese

  • Previous experience managing employees under a collective bargaining agreement

  • Forbes knowledge or training

  • Effective listening abilities and be able to make strong judgment calls

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with guests, management, employees and other outside contacts

  • Able to lead and mentor a team

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
