We're actively seeking a talented Senior Data Scientist to join our Advanced Analytics team in Newport Beach, CA. * This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by developing and deploying analytic products that solve complex problems and deliver value to the business. How you'll help move us forward:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of machine learning models and algorithms to solve business problems.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to extract actionable insights and inform strategic decisions.
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for data collection, processing, and storage.
- Implement and monitor machine learning models in production environments, ensuring their reliability and scalability.
- Develop and enforce best practices for data management, including data governance, data quality, and data security.
- Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data workflows and ensure efficient data processing.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, and apply them to improve existing processes and models.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences through reports, presentations, and visualizations.
The experience you bring:
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data science and machine learning, with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, data mining, and predictive analytics.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and XGBoost.
- Experience in model deployment, including model registry, inference, monitoring and remediation of data and/or model drift.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
What makes you stand out:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Knowledge of deep learning techniques and natural language processing (NLP).
- Familiarity with software development practices, including version control (Git), continuous integration, and agile methodologies.
