ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Sr. Mgr/Associate Director of Forecasting role will play a critical role in developing our launch forecast for ziftomenib in relapsed / refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML) as well as long-term forecasts for lifecycle indications across the portfolio. This individual will report to the Sr. Director of Commercial Insights and Analytics and will be responsible for building and maintaining revenue forecasts, and for coordinating forecast workstreams in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders including Marketing, Finance, Market Access and Manufacturing. The successful candidate will have deep technical forecasting expertise and strong strategic thinking, combined with effective communication skills.



  • Develop, implement and update patient-based forecasts and lead forecasting business processes, including quarterly LEs, annual LRF, and annual strategic plan
  • Guide the analytics and insights necessary to inform and support forecast assumptions, and integrate emerging data and insights into regular forecast updates
  • Identify uncertainties and conduct sensitivity and scenario modeling to inform understanding of risks and opportunities
  • Be a strategic thought partner to the business by providing actional insights & recommendations based on forecasting results to support strategic planning and decision-making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including marketing, sales, finance and manufacturing, to ensure alignment of forecast assumptions with business strategies and objectives
  • Partner with analytics and insights team members to ensure consistency and alignment between forecasting and performance tracking workstreams
  • Develop and communicate forecasting presentations, including assumptions, rationale, and supporting information across a range of stakeholders, including senior leadership and co-promotion partners
  • Conduct opportunity assessments and support business case development to inform pipeline investments and portfolio prioritization
  • Ensure objectivity of product forecasts, and manage and refine forecasting models to improve accuracy and reliability over time



JOB SPECIFICATIONS:



  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in business management, finance, statistics, or a related field. MBA / advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial pharmaceutical forecasting, or relevant experience in a consulting firm.
  • Excellent financial modeling and long-term/short-term forecasting skills, including deep experience in building and maintaining patient flow models and applying methodologies for sensitivity modelling/monte carlo simulations etc
  • Strong understanding and experience utilizing and integrating data and insights from primary market research, competitive intelligence, data analytics, and other standard secondary data sources
  • Proven effectiveness in leading through ambiguity, with the ability to develop credible recommendations and strengthen confidence in forecast assumptions when available data is imperfect
  • Experience managing a US oncology / hematology product forecast through launch, and across multiple lines of therapy and lifecycle indications
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to influence laterally and vertically
  • Demonstrated ability to story-tell using data and effectively communicate forecasting and technical ideas and results to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders in written and verbal form
  • Strong track record of effective collaboration and partnership with cross-functional teams to socialize relevant insights and takeaways and ensure alignment on forecast assumptions
  • Demonstrated ability to balance attention to detail with the ability to understand and communicate the strategic implications of operational decisions and forecast assumptions


The base range for an Associate Director is $174,740 - $203,000 per year. Individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including, and without limitation, job-related skills, experience, work location, and relevant education or training. Kura's compensation package also includes generous benefits, equity, and participation in an annual target bonus.

The Company is also conducting a series of clinical trials to evaluate ziftomenib in combination with current standards of care in newly diagnosed and R/R NPM1-mutant and KMT2A-rearranged AML. Tipifarnib, a potent and selective farnesyl transferase inhibitor (FTI), is currently in a Phase 1/2 trial in combination with alpelisib for patients with PIK3CA-dependent head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (KURRENT-HN). Kura is also evaluating KO-2806, a next-generation FTI, in a Phase 1 dose-escalation trial as a monotherapy and in combination with targeted therapies (FIT-001).
