Title: Mechanical Engineering Intern

Location: Metairie, LA

Position Overview: Bollinger is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern for a full-time, on-site summer internship at our Metairie, LA facility. This opportunity is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a professional, real-world environment.

Key Responsibilities



  • Assist the Engineerinng department by conducting research and preparing technical documentation.
  • Perform general office tasks with high attention to detail, including organizing reports and maintaining engineering records.
  • Develop and review system diagrams to ensure compliance with vessel specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct basic engineering calculations for system performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, and other personnel to support various projects.


Qualifications



  • Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
