Assistant Controller

We currently have a direct hire opportunity for an Assistant Controller, this is an on-site position in Pittsburgh.

This position is not eligible for C2C or visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform account reconciliations and create journal entries.
  • Lead quarterly job cost meetings with cross-office personnel.
  • Maintain the Work in Progress Schedule.
  • Prepare payroll taxes, business privilege tax, and other tax filings.
  • Collaborate with auditors on year-end audits, payroll audits, and sales/use tax audits.
  • Review and audit sales/use tax; serve as a subject matter expert across offices.
  • Participate in meetings with senior executives.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proficient in multi-state payroll taxes and sales/use tax laws.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals.
  • Construction industry experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
  • Ability to manage teams and handle confidential information.
Nice to Have:
  • Knowledge of GMP billings is a plus.
  • Experience withSage Intaact a plus.
