Job Overview:
The Senior Project Controller - PFT (ETO) will manage several high-profile financial responsibilities for the PFT Engineered-To-Order (ETO) portfolio of products. This position is the primary owner for maintaining a fully compliant, highly controlled percent-of-complete revenue recognition environment. Management of the global POC process will require both direct and indirect management of global resources to maintain compliant revenue recognition entry (including other P&L and balance sheet elements) across multiple legal entities and ERP systems.

Responsibilities:


  • 20%
    Monitor, report, and aid in financial performance improvement. Analyze and interpret operating results - investigate variances, understand unusual items, evaluate effects on operations, and recommend solutions to mitigate risks and improve financial performance.

    Lead efforts to create a repeatable, sustainable, and controllable environment required to support percent-of-complete revenue recognition. Efforts will require leadership in areas including, but not limited to, developing EAC reviews for active projects, rationalizing contingency cost models, training global financial analysts to create the entry, signing an internal rep letter acknowledging financial accuracy, and supporting external financial audits with required documentation to substantiate business POC positions


  • 10%
    Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, operations, and finance to identify risk & opportunities, as well as forecast project revenue, margin, and cash flow.


  • 10%
    Coaching and developing project managers, direct reports, the extended finance team, and others impacted by percent-of-complete accounting. Championing change management to ensure both the successful implementation and adoption of process enhancements.


  • 10%
    Assist in the efforts required to develop, analyze, and modify financial plans, which entails managing monthly risk and opportunities, quarterly forecasts, annual operating plan (AOP), and long-term strategic plans (LRP).

    Participate, influence, and improve the monthly business review (MBR) processes. Participation includes directly supporting senior management reporting, utilizing high-level analytical skills required to review and interpret monthly, quarterly and year-end results.

    Development of analytical tools that facilitate effective decision-making and allow for resolution of problems. Recommend and support business decisions through structure problem solving - Define, measure, analyze, improve, and control financial systems and models.

    Collaborate with IT to recommend, implement, and influence process/system improvements that facilitate a well-controlled environment within global ERP systems.


  • 5%
    Participate in the monthly close process and Internal Control support initiatives (e.g. Physical Inventory, POC and Revenue Recognition schedules, and other Audit Requests) ensuring results are accurately stated across multiple ERP's.




Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (MBA / CPA strongly preferred)
6+ years of finance or accounting experience (experience managing others preferred)
4+ years' experience operating in engineered to order manufacturing industry (preferred) that has utilized percent-of-complete revenue recognition
Strong accounting and reporting system skills including Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Hyperion Planning (Essbase). SAP FICO, (CO-PC and CO-PA, FI-AR, and FI-AP) and SAP SD.
25% travel required
Preferences:
Technical skills in accounting, finance and other areas as well as experience with accounting cycles, such as AOP, LRP, and standards setting
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with senior management
Ability to drive change, efficiency and standardization of the FP&A processes
Demonstrated ability to work closely and build strong, productive relationships with all levels of management and many different functions, and to work effectively with executive leadership
Possess excellent organization and time management skills to be able to handle several assignments at one time and work in matrix organization
Accurate appraisal, interpretation, analysis of financial results; development of interpretive reporting (bridges, variance analysis)
Expert level proficiency in MS Excel, Access, SQL (i.e., pivot tables, macros, charts, creating queries, and downloading data from existing queries.) Macro and VBA development a plus
