THE TEAM:

This team dedicated to hardware/software co-design for our datacenter GPU products, focusing on integrating lessons learned from ML and HPC applications and the ROCm software stack into the Instinct GPU products as well as related CPU, networking, and system products.

THE ROLE:

We are seeking senior engineer and architect to join our team that will thrive in a fast-paced work environment, using effective communication, problem-solving and prioritization skills. Individuals that are well organized, show great attention to detail, and employ critical thinking are well-suited for our team.The Datacenter Graphics and Accelerated Computing (DCGPU) organization is looking for an experienced GPU Based Performance Architect focused on Datacenter environments with a focus on networking systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze performance and programmability bottlenecks in GPU-based systems and propose updated or new hardware and software architectures
  • Architect, design and guide implementation of scale-out network designs for GPU-based machine learning and high-performance computing systems
  • Provide interface between hardware and software teams for operating systems, language runtimes, compilers, and network stacks
  • Collect and collate feedback from software teams and their applications (both internal and external); use this information to propose future hardware changes in CPUs, GPUs, accelerators, SOCs, and network/I-O devices

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Operating systems design and implementation experience, especially focused on the Linux kernel and KVM hypervisor
  • Scale-out networking in the areas of high-performance computing or machine learning networking
  • Hardware/software co-design, with special interest in CPU/software and GPU/software interactions
  • CPU, GPU, or accelerator performance engineering

USEFUL SKILLS:

  • C/C++ programming and scripting languages (such as Python)
  • Kernel-space programming, especially in the Linux kernel or in Linux device drivers
  • Networking APIs such as MPI
  • GPGPU programming languages such as CUDA, HIP, SYCL, OpenCL, or Vulkan

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field
