We are seeking an expert and dynamic individual to lead our Process Development team at the Belmont, California site. This role requires a strong technical foundation and outstanding leadership skills to drive the development of next-generation intraocular lens (IOL) technologies and manufacturing solutions.

In this role a typical day will include:

• Providing leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary engineering team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and project breakthroughs.
• Overseeing the design and development of components, fixtures, and metrology systems to advance innovative intraocular lens technologies.
• Leading the development and implementation of automated manufacturing processes to optimize production efficiency and quality.
• Collaborating with multi-functional teams, including mechanical, optics, manufacturing, and materials scientists, to ensure project success and technical excellence.
• Leading root cause analysis and fixing efforts to address emerging manufacturing or design defects.
• Developing and overseeing the execution of test protocols, technical reports, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers, ensuring scalability and quality of manufacturing processes.
• Driving a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging Lean Six Sigma principles and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) best practices.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor's Degree High School Diploma or equivalent (HS +13, Assoc.+9; Bach +5, MS +2, PhD +0)
• 5 years of relevant experience
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• Travel Requirements: 5%
