Summary

Primary responsibility of the position is to fuel, service the interior & exterior of the motorcoaches, minor repairs of shop equipment, light bulb replacement, painting, steam cleaning floors, cleaning of workbenches, all duties of a Washer/Cleaner and to keep the facility clean at the direction of the Garage Manager, Foreman or Lead Repairman.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Performs all of the following duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Building maintenance, including, but not limited to, painting, minor plumbing and repairs, minor electrical work and repairs, floor and tile repairs, cleaning of all administrative offices and all restrooms.


  • Grounds maintenance, including, but not limited to, grass cutting, landscape upkeep and trash removal, snow removal, painting.


  • Driving assignments (valid license required), including, but not limited to, transporting mechanics or drivers to and from offsite repair facilities, pick-up and drop-off parts.


  • Wash the Exterior of the motorcoaches, dump the lavatory, fuel and check all fluid levels in the motorcoach.


  • Required to record all services in the Fuel Card on the motorcoach.


  • Sweep and mop interior of the motorcoach.


  • Clean interior of lavatory, place chemical in toilet and stock with paper towel, toilet paper and hand sanitizer.


  • Wash all windows and empties trash bags on the motorcoach.


  • Required to drive motorcoach on Company property only.


  • Required to clean shop and all offices in the Garage.


  • May be required to have a Class II CDL license.


  • Required to clean other Company vehicles other than motorcoaches.


  • May, at times, be required to service and interact with outside bus companies.


  • May, at times, be required to handle money for outside service billing.


  • Process completed "Service Lane Reports" paperwork as required.


  • Inspects motorcoach GPS, DVD, Outlets and WI-FI to ensure workability.


  • May be required to paint wheels and tires.


  • May be required to strip decals from motorcoaches.


  • All duties of a "Washer/Cleaner"

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Less than a high school education or up to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have basic computer skills to log work and inventory in appropriate systems.



Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple and complex instructions, short correspondence and memos in basic English.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence in basic English.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.



Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage to draw and interpret bar graphs.



Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.



Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and smell. The employee must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to wear appropriate safety equipment and follow safety procedures.



Specifics of the Job

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a general understanding of directions and ability to interpret maps.
  • Due to the "safety sensitive" classification of this position, prospective employees must meet satisfactory drug screening. All employees of Peter Pan Bus Lines, Inc., in this job function, are subject to random drug testing.
  • Must be able to work any and all hours associated with the position to include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Employees in this position are covered by a collective bargaining agreement and are subject to the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
