We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Sr Director Content Services on our Education Center team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

As a Sr Director Content Services, you will oversee the development and advancement of content
services strategy and operations to drive mission and business results. Provide
leadership, oversight and direction that spans content services (learning
experience design, multimedia programming, accreditation, evaluation, and
publishing operations). Develop cohesive strategy and roadmap that provides vision
and direction for content services in support of overall business goals. Ensure
scalable, sustainable content operations that advance strategies and goals,
uphold quality and accreditation standards, and ensure delivery on time and within
budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and champion multi-year strategy and plan for content services that achieves mission and business goals and drives learning outcomes and includes learning experience design, multimedia programming, CME accreditation and publishing
  • Oversee content services, representing strategy and operations to leadership, managing intersections, opportunities and challenges both across the unit and the enterprise
  • Build collaborations with stakeholders, institutions, and experts to enhance education technology and tools and achieve excellence in quality, outcomes, scalability, and customers satisfaction
  • Influence and manage linkages across business unit education strategies and content services to enable decision making and optimized planning and resource allocation
  • Collaborate to enhance capabilities to identify behaviors of learner segments and deliver meaningful educational interventions based on gaps and needs
  • Monitor trends and market conditions and research, evaluate, and guide the application of proven tools, techniques and principles to content services strategy and operations
  • Provide thought and industry leadership on education through active participation in public forums, conferences and other industry events
  • Collaborate with Medical Director Editor to direct implementation of content and curriculum strategy

Operations

  • Lead and oversee content services operations, translating strategy into feasible operating plans, working closely with leadership and staff to ensure advancement toward goals and alignment and integration across the organization and the unit
  • Define and oversee integrated plans, structures and processes that meet current and future needs, achieve impact, scale, and are cost-effective
  • Collaborate with editor, product management, marketing and business operations leaders to advance and optimize content services for maximum impact
  • Lead measurement, analysis, and assessment of AMA Ed Hub education impact in collaboration with others and oversee systematic review process to evaluate objectives, progress, and outcomes

Staff Management & Budget

  • Lead, mentor and provide management oversight for staff
  • Responsible for setting objectives, evaluating performance, and supporting staff development
  • Analyze, plan, and budget for capacity and align resources with goals

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Graduate degree in adult education, business, publishing, or related field is required
  2. Minimum 10+ years of experience planning, designing, and evaluating curricula or learning experiences required
  3. Minimum 5 + years of experience managing large, complex projects; ability to effectively manage and execute multiple, concurrent projects; ability to handle ambiguity and adapt effectively to changing circumstances
  4. Minimum 5+ years of experience in people management required; able to grow and mentor talent
  5. Proven ability to develop and implement strategic roadmaps, encompassing both short and long-term goals
  6. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead team as primary manager of complex matrixed programs with multiple data-driven projects, direct reports, partnerships and accountability for outcomes
  7. Demonstrated success in application of adult learning concepts, technologies, and evaluation practices to deliver, enable and assess learning and user experience
  8. Expertise in designing healthcare provider- or consumer-facing digital solutions preferred
  9. Experience designing learning experiences for multiple delivery methods and modalities, interfacing with customers, and synthesizing their needs. Strong knowledge of UX design fundamentals and concepts
  10. Polished interpersonal, consensus-building, and negotiation skills for developing and maintaining relationships with all levels of management and business partners. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting in a large group setting
  11. Strong analytic skills required and proven experience developing and managing budgets

The salary range for this position is $187,680 - $253,470. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
