Job Summary

This position is located in the Imaging Center and under the direction of the Imaging Center Supervisor will perform a variety of ophthalmic imaging duties including fundus photography, OCT, external and slit-lamp photography, biometry, corneal topography, fluorescein and ICG angiography.Incumbent will also provide support services, which may include maintaining supplies, providing imaging for clinical trials, and coordinating referring physician requests through Epic EMR. Knowledge of ultrasound bio microscopy, ultrasonography and Relearn imaging is desired. Training in these and other new or established technologies will be provided.

Patient care must receive the highest priority with the best possible service in all areas of Ophthalmologic care. In addition, the teaching of residents, medical students and postgraduate continuing medical education physicians must be facilitated. PhD and M.D. faculty are joined in mutual research efforts to seek new knowledge in the treatment and prevention of blinding eye disease. All of this is accomplished in the best working environment for all employees.The Eye Center's goals and objectives are to achieve excellence in the care. Of patients, excellence in teaching, and the search for prevention of sight threatening disease.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • MUST BE COA CERTIFIED
  • No minimum education required
  • Previous work in experience in a similar field
  • Experience performing Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT}.
  • Experience performing fluorescein angiography and fundus photography.
  • Experience performing Biometry imaging.
  • Experience in refractive/lasik.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic photography and digital imaging principles.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology as it applies to ophthalmology.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy and its application to ophthalmic imaging.
  • Ability to reconcile physician orders with available imaging technologies and specific patient requirements.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures and to apply standards consistently.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to support and maintain professional relationships with patients and members of the health team.
  • Must possess the ability and desire to learn new imaging procedures as they are added to Imaging Center services.
  • Demonstrate a basic knowledge of computer systems to include troubleshooting, burning DVDs, copying files, uploading and downloading various medical images.

Work Environment

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
