POSITION TITLE / LOCATION

Process Improvement Engineer/Salisbury MA (Mayflower Plant)

POSITION OVERVIEW

The individual in this position will be part of an award winning team that is leading the operational transformation of Milliken and Company's newest division, Ovik Health. Under the leadership of the Continuous Improvement Director, this position works independently or in conjunction with other engineers, value stream managers, shift supervisors, quality, and maintenance personnel in analyzing and developing solutions to processes in the direct support of manufacturing. This includes modification, design and development of processes, cost improvement initiatives and quality improvement projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all factors and conditions that impact the processes and products, including environmental impacts.
  • Use sound project management skills to manage multiple improvement projects.
  • Incorporate creative thinking into the problem-solving approach to identify unique and different ways to make things better/more consistent/faster/cheaper/efficient.
  • Communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of associates to accomplish project and location goals.
  • Serves as the primary technical owner of the process.
  • Leverages Continuous Improvement methodologies to identify, implement, and sustain improvements to all kinds of processes.
  • Responsible for supporting the plant's targets with respect to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Be a role model for safety in your process and participate the in the plant's safety process
  • Be a plant resource for root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.
  • Develop and refine procedures related to assigned processes
  • Assist maintenance teams with advanced troubleshooting of safety, quality, or delivery challenges on critical machinery
  • Validate and document new manufacturing processes or machinery
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in [Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, etc] engineering
  • Experience (internship or otherwise) in Manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • This position requires candidates to be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for a work visa (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED
  • 5+ Years manufacturing experience (intern, co-op, or fulltime)
  • Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement Methodologies (TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Textile Manufacturing or Substrate Coating Experience
  • Self-starting and ability to work within a team environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION

This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and regularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles.
