Human Resources Compliance Specialist

The HR Compliance Specialist assists with the administration of human resources policies and procedures and supports compliance programs, including EEO/AAP, employee relations, job evaluation, training and development. The Specialist collects, organizes and analyzes HR data and makes recommendations based on analysis to the business. This role may also prepare internal employee communications regarding HR practices, acquisitions, compliance, or company policies.

This Hybrid role requires in-person work at our Newton, MA headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Perform independent and objective audits to ensure company policies and procedures are executed in accordance with regulatory, statutory, customer and organizational standards.

  • Support Visa process for Bright Horizons employees, collaborating with internal departments and external legal team.

  • Manage the Background Investigation and Individualized Assessment process, which includes having sensitive communications with candidates and providing thorough recommendations to VP of HR and Legal department.

  • Manage Social Media process - ensure all required roles and locations are being checked.

  • Manage annual review of employee handbook.

  • Prepare and submit annual required government reporting (e.g., EEO-1, Vets 100, and state/local requirements). Stay informed regarding Labor Law and DOL updates.

  • Support HR compliance programs and practices as assigned including HR-related laws, EEO, wage and hour, legislative changes, labor law posters and other compliance related items.

  • Generate scheduled and adhoc reports to support HR and other corporate departments as needed including but not limited to audits, company demographics, , location specific information, and other requests as assigned (often working under tight deadlines).

  • Assist with maintaining vendor relationship, escalating issues as needed. Manage access set-up and maintenance in collaboration with vendor and internal team. Manage payment and invoicing process.

  • Support HR policy and practice projects and implementation of systems. Ensure work product is accurate, clear and concise and reflect Bright Horizons communication and HR standards.

  • Manages vendor relationships, as assigned and makes recommendations for program operation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree or 3 years of experience in lieu of a degree

  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience handing confidential information

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with computer operations and business systems including Microsoft Office and HRIS or ATS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with Excel; pivot tables, filters, and sorting.

  • High level of data/trend analysis skills and interpretive capabilities to identify issues and recommend corrective actions and continuous improvement programs.

  • Must be detailed oriented, organized, and have ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to provide exemplary customer service when dealing with internal and external customers.
