DataBank is seeking a Network Security Engineer II to join our team. The role holds the responsibility of being the primary interface in the network organization for security and compliance requirements and deliverables. This includes participating in audits, reviewing infrastructure scans and working with the Security organization on remediation tasks and documentation required to ensure we are meeting regulatory policies. This role will manage and track all remediation activity in the team that could involve hardening our infrastructure or documenting exemption. This professional is required to stay up to date with the latest security systems, tools, regulations, policies, procedures, and threats associated with cloud/service provider network platforms and services. This role is designated as remote for the continental US.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Databank's FedRAMP network environment including implementing and maintaining security measures to ensure protection of data and systems.
  • Review network vulnerabilities for relevance and exposure to mitigate risk and remain in compliance with FedRAMP security standards.
  • Remediate vulnerabilities within prescribed timeframe or documenting exceptions.
  • Document changes due to new security requirements.
  • Perform regular checks of the environment, monitor for threats or issues related to hardware and software and prioritize remediation efforts.
  • Be the primary point of contact to represent the Network department to gather information and provide documentation to satisfy audits.
  • Manage provisioning and deprovisioning of hardware and software in the FedRAMP network environment and related software.
  • Work cross-functionally with the cloud engineering, security, and compliance team.
  • Respond to tickets and requests for changes in the FedRAMP environment within prescribed timeframe.
  • Ensure compliance of infrastructure hardening best practices for existing and new infrastructure.
  • Attend security awareness training including security focused certifications.

Qualifications

  • Three plus years of hands-on technical experience in cloud/service provider (SP) environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance processes associated with cloud and network platforms.
  • Familiarity with State, Federal, and industry regulations, policies, and processes such as ISO 27001, FedRAMP, FISMA, HIPAA/ HITECH, Sarbanes-Oxley, Gramm Leach Bliley, CALEA, SSAE18, and PCI-DSS.
  • Experience managing compliance process, documentation, and auditing.
  • Experience with scanning and audit tools (Tenable, Qualsys, Nessus, Hyperproof GRC)
  • Strong skill sets with firewall provisioning and troubleshooting (IPSec tunnels, remote access VPNs).
  • JunOS (MX series routers and EX/QFX switching)
  • Cisco ASA and ASAv firewalls
  • Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama element orchestration
  • Familiar with access control security methods (2FA, RBAC, ACLs, TACACS, Active Directory, Zero Trust)
  • Able to work with supervision or with a team and take direction.
  • Ability to work as a self-starter in a remote setting.
  • Prior experience in security or IT environment a plus.

Optional skills:

  • Graduation from an accredited university/college with a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is strongly desirable. Applicants without a degree but who have experience in the related field will also be considered.
  • Juniper, Palo Alto, or Cisco certifications are desirable.
  • Industry certification(s) in information security, compliance, security analysis, or other fields of expertise that are directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position are also strongly desirable.
