The Impact You'll Make

Join Lam as an Electrical Engineer and you'll be at the forefront, designing and developing electronic solutions for advanced applications. Your role involves designing and analyzing equipment, conducting experimental tests, and evaluating results to create reliable cutting-edge solutions.

In this role, you will directly contribute to the design and development of next generation Lam Wet Deposition products. You will be part of the future direction of the semiconductor industry.

What You'll Do
  • Operate as project ownerleading multidisciplinary projects with a high-level of autonomy, managing schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Review complex problem statements, generate solutions, identify and lead the effort of selecting the best solution.
  • Perform comprehensive optical, image sensor, and image quality characterization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to identify, drive, and validate camera and sensor data capture and processing improvements in the hardware and software
  • Plan and execute cutting edge research to advance image and video analytics on semiconductor equipment.
  • Develop function design specifications, test plans, documentation and reports as required.
  • Mine and analyze video data sets to improve Lam Research products.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of your models and data gathering techniques.
  • Perform hands-on test and validation utilizing lab equipment forcharacterization of the performance of the electrical/ electro-mechanical systems.
Who We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 6+ years' experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong experience with image processing, computer vision and computational imaging algorithms and associated libraries
  • Expertise with lens-based imaging systems/ camera calibration methods/ scripting languages such as Matlab or Python/ projective geometry and geometric imaging optics
  • Familiar with software test methodologies, Design of Experiments, and a passion for testing
  • Creative thinking, strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Ability to complete projects and learn the required skills with minimal guidance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex systems. Proficient at troubleshooting with tools: DVM, Oscilloscope, network sniffers, protocol analyzers, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Python computer programming and the scientific Python Stack.
  • Working knowledge of network troubleshooting tools
  • Knowledge of computer vision algorithms and techniques, including object detection, image segmentation, and feature extraction.
  • Strong understanding of image processing techniques and algorithms.
  • Hands-on experience in developing and deploying machine vision systems in an industrial or research setting.
  • Experience in troubleshooting with problem-solving techniques such as 5-why, 8D, fishbones, etc.
  • Ideal candidate will have a background understanding in semiconductor processing

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
