Metrology Technician 4: Nightshift

The Group You'll Be A Part Of

In the SEM Lab, we serve as the eyes for Lam's process development teams. Our objective is high volume metrology data generation, with rapid turnaround times to facilitate more experimental iterations and a faster time to solution.

Two schedule options are available for this nightshift position: a four-day 10hr/day schedule from 6pm - 4am, or a compressed 12hr/day schedule from 5pm - 5am which alternates between three and four days per week.

What You'll Do
  • Operate a state-of-the-art Scanning Electron Microscope in order to image semiconductor samples.
  • Prepare samples using precision mechanical cleaving techniques.
  • Protect customer IP through procedure andvigilance.
  • Receive and integrate feedback from imaging in service of continuous improvement to the sample preparation process.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience operating dual beam FIB/SEM tools for the preparation and imaging of lamellae for STEM or TEM imaging.
  • Bachelor's or associate's degree in a physical science.
  • Knowledge of the physics involved with FIB/SEM tools, such as vacuum systems, voltage/current effects, and ion sputtering behavior.
  • Familiarity with key developments and materials in the semiconductor industry.
  • Experience in customer IP protection and sample handling.

'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
