Join us as a Senior Controls Engineer in Holland, MI as we work together to bring innovative automation solutions to life and support our customers.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role reports to our Lifecycle Management Division, focused on supporting our customers through system optimizations and modernizations.

The ideal candidate will not only excel in controls and programming aspects of projects but also be adept at leading controls/programming activities outside of projects, responding to customer inquiries, and providing expert guidance.

Location Type: This is an onsite position in Holland, MI.

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of related experience in Controls Engineering
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with any the following: PLC's, HMI's, Robotics, Mechatronics, Motion Control, Vision Systems and/or Programming.
  • Solid leadership experience
  • Ability to lead simultaneous projects and/or large projects.
  • Experience with CAD (i.e. AutoCAD Electrical)
  • Problem Solving expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues related to control systems
  • Experience in preparing detailed technical documentation, including design specifications and controls troubleshooting

  • Customer-Centric Focus: This role requires a strong emphasis on customer support and lifecycle management, making it essential for the candidate to be responsive and adaptable to customer needs.
  • Versatility: The Senior Controls Project Engineer will be called upon to lead controls/programming activities outside of traditional project boundaries, addressing customer questions and providing expert advice as needed.
  • Collaboration: Close collaboration with the customer support division ensures that the engineer is always aligned with customer expectations and lifecycle management goals.

Other Details:

  • Travel up to 35% to customer sites & other JR locations.
  • May represent the organization in communications and conferences.
  • Lead teams and influence project direction and progress.
  • Serve as a technical expert in the department and may mentor/train developing engineers.
