**Eligible for up to $20000 Sign On Bonus** Summary: Under general supervision of the Manager Medical Imaging for the MRI Division and according to standard procedures operates an MRI unit and related equipment in order to produce MRI images of any designated anatomical area. Collects and completes records on patient data and equipment operation. Provides assistance to patients and Radiologists. Solves minor equipment problems. Performs calibration tests and other quality control functions on equipment and notifies service personnel as required. All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age specific needs of the geriatric adult and adolescent patient. Fosters patient and family centered care and nursing services in accordance with the Brown University Health and The Miriam Hospital*s mission vision values with consideration of the life span including all developmental stages as well as cultural patterns.Responsibilities: Other information: BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Requires thorough knowledge of a specialized MRI technology. Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technology. Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy advanced MRI applications and computer operations. Basic understanding of the operation of computer consoles. MRI certification through the ARRT. New grads may obtain within 90 days of hire Interpersonal skills necessary to interface effectively with patients patients* families departmental staff physicians and others. Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process. EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in Ultrasound CT Nuclear Medicine DSA cross-sectional anatomy and computer operations is preferred. MRI experience preferred. Healthcare environment such as acute care hospitals physicians* offices and ancillary healthcare enterprises. Works with medical equipment and has direct patient contact. Any potential hazards are minimized by adherence to established safety procedures and precautions including use safety equipment and protective clothing. Will have exposure to high magnetic fields. Individual cannot have any physical condition that would be aggravated by magnetic fields. Walks and stands intermittently throughout the day. Subject to electrical and energy hazards.
