We are seeking a driven and strategic Operations Manager - NC (Per Diem) to take full responsibility for our stevedoring operations. Your Mission As a key member of the PST management team, you will oversee pre-planning, execution, and supervision of all aspects of cargo handling, ensuring operations run safely, efficiently, and profitably. What You'll Do Oversee Cargo Handling Operations - Lead all labor and management teams to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe stevedoring operations. Maximize Efficiency & Productivity - Work closely with terminal personnel, stevedores, and logistics teams to streamline cargo movement. Enhance Customer Satisfaction - Build and maintain strong customer relationships by understanding contract terms, responding to operational needs, and delivering top-tier service. Lead Workforce & Safety Initiatives - Manage union workforce relations, ensure adherence to ILWU contracts, and implement safety and accident prevention programs. Drive Profitability & Performance - Oversee P&L responsibilities, optimize labor management, and achieve financial and operational objectives. Ensure Compliance & Operational Excellence - Stay ahead of industry regulations, cargo stowage requirements, and safety protocols to maintain high operational standards. What We're Looking For Education: Bachelor's degree in Maritime Operations or related field, or equivalent work experience in shipping terminals or logistics. Licenses & Certifications: TWIC card and valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required. Experience: Prior experience managing union-represented employees in a terminal or stevedoring environment. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of terminal operations, cargo handling, and safety regulations, with experience using computerized operating systems. Additional Details Work Environment: Office, terminal, and vessel settings with exposure to active production areas, moving equipment, and varying weather conditions. Travel: Up to 20%, including visits to U.S. locations such as Hawaii.
