Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Wage: $17.00 - $40.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am - 3:00pm Are your skills not being fully utilized? Reach your maximum potential by working with QPS! QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available for a Maintenance Technician at a company in Rockford, IL. This is a direct hire position for 1st shift. Apply now! Maintenance Technician Responsibilities: - Perform or assign preventative maintenance activities - Effectively manage work orders - Respond to all "Line Down" calls - Diagnose and make repairs as appropriate - Provide recommendations on modifications to increase efficiency - Work on higher level/more complex repair or maintenance concerns - Maintain safety standards in all activities - Perform welds - stick (arc), MiG and plastic - Operate forklift - Reads blueprints and schematics - Maintain and encourage 5-S methodology - Assist with fabrication or retrofitting machinery and equipment Requirements for Maintenance Technician: - High School diploma or equivalent - 3-5 years' experience in the facility or industrial maintenance environment - Mechanically inclined with excellent problem solving skills - Able to work independently and with others - Good communication skills - Organized with attention to detail - Able to work in a fast-paced environment - Able to read blueprints, building plans and repair manuals - Able to use hand tools and power tools - Able to follow instructions - Excellent time management skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Thorough knowledge of more than one of the following areas: general plumbing, electrical, welding, repair, robotics, programming, plating, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, or any other industrial maintenance area - Forklift license - Prolonged periods of standing and walking - Able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces - Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery - Able to visually inspect machines - Able to lift up to 50 pounds at times QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
