The Security Manager for Richmond Raceway is a part-time role that will assist in the day-to-day operations as well as event-time operations of the Security Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hiring, scheduling and supervision of full-time and part-time security and parking personnel
  • Scheduling and supervision of third-party vendor security and parking personnel
  • Coordination of activities with other departments and outside Law Enforcement Agencies
  • Training of security and parking personnel
  • Oversee the inventory, maintenance and deployment of department assets
  • Conducting and leading large-scale meetings for event planning
  • Event meeting follow up, communications and planning
  • Proactively partnering with department heads to ensure assets and vendors are secure
  • Creating and facilitating project timelines to ensure RIR is event ready
  • Lead responder to all calls-to-action on property
  • Proactively communicating to track leadership daily functions, concerns and hiring needs
  • Assist in the development of operational plans for events
  • Assist in the development of security, traffic, parking and transportation plans for all events
  • Management of multi-modal transportation systems relating to major events
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) supplemented with two (2) years' experience in law enforcement, event security and/or parking, traffic management, major event planning or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Ability to train, coach and supervise staff
  • Knowledge of budgets, budget processes and budget management
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to delegate efficiently
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Perform quality work and meets deadlines with or without direct supervision
  • Able to manage projects while adhering to budgets
  • Approachable and interacts professionally with other employees, customers, and vendors
  • Demonstrates sound judgement in decision making
  • Exhibits strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Capacity to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to balance and prioritize time in the office and time in the field appropriately
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Position may require occasional travel
