GENERAL SUMMARY:

Recruits, screens, interviews and forwards physician applicants for employed positions and for private practices and independent rural hospitals. Develops and prepares verbal and written reports for clients on a routine basis. Advertises and markets physician openings, develops recruitment materials and sources internet databases for potential candidates. Represents hospitals and medical communities at various recruiting and networking functions.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:




  1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.






  1. *Coordinates physician recruitment activities for employed and independent clients as assigned including:




* Communicating with requesting client to determine and document physician needs, community profile and practice profile;

* Scheduling community tour and meetings with community leaders; providing candidates with extensive information regarding community and physician employment opportunities;

* Designing and obtaining approval for recruitment plan;

* Sourcing appropriate candidates, conducting phone or virtual interviews and building itinerary for interview/screening meetings with all pertinent parties (candidate's family, school administrators, realtors, etc.);

* Attending on-site visits with candidates and facilitates introductions;

* Maintaining regular contact with clients through written and verbal reports;

* Building letters of intent for serious candidates; updating community and candidate representations as needed;

* Conducting candidate and client follow-up communications and performing initial candidate background checks;

* Meeting/communicating with community leaders to assist in marketing new physician to community.




  1. *Assists the BPN President with the triennial Bryan Medical Center Medical Staff Development Plan, including assisting with data needs, physician supply inventory and identification of recruitment priorities.






  1. Initiates discussion regarding contract negotiation; refers contract specifications and approval process to relevant client contact for follow-up with candidate.






  1. *Advertises/markets physician openings via internet, direct mailings, internal postings and professional magazines/journals; develops advertisements, flyers, pamphlets and brochures in conjunction with client and media/printing vendor; sources physician candidates via internet databases for potential recruitment/placement.






  1. *Attends hospital-sponsored and community-sponsored physician networking programs/luncheons to meet with potential candidates and discuss placement preferences and needs; participates in recruitment job fairs and conference exhibits to source potential candidates.






  1. Serves as a liaison with external recruitment firms; recommends retained and contingency firms for specific searches.






  1. Initiates and reviews contracts between Bryan and independent entities to assist with private practice recruitment. Presents final agreements to the executive leader for final signature.






  1. Confirms and may assist in scheduling air flights, hotel reservations and car rentals for candidate interview/meetings; may help coordinate physician relocation to new community/practice.






  1. May assist physician candidates in creating curriculum vitas; may assist candidate's spouses in seeking employment within contracted community.






  1. May provide assistance to the recruitment of other providers or executives as assigned. Maintains client and candidate contact/resource information; networks with physician residency program directors to exchange placement information and build candidate contacts.






  1. *Maintains liaison with Health and Human Services department to reference physician shortage areas, loan repayment assistance and foreign visa practice requirements; coordinates and communicates credentialing requirements for newly placed physicians to ensure practice compliance within community and with Federal and insurance reimbursement entities.




EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school or equivalency required. Minimum of two (2) years experience in recruitment, preferably in health care environment required. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or health care field preferred. Membership in our familiarity with Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR) preferred.
