Position Title: Welder
Wage: $25.00-$27.00/Hour Shift: 1st Shift, 2nd Shift Hours: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM, 1:30 PM - 12:00 AM Monday-Friday Join this team and build a strong, stable career with competitive pay, excellent benefits, and steady hours! We're looking for skilled welders with TIG/MIG experience on stainless steel who can read blueprints and take pride in quality craftsmanship. Welder Responsibilities: - Read and interpret blueprints and /or drawings and follow verbal directions to determine the specific welding requirements - Lays out/positions parts by using templates or reading measurements - Performs welding processes based on specifications from blueprints, drawings or verbal directions - Performs hand grinding and polishing - Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs - Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations - Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results - Documents actions by completing production and quality forms - Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed - Performs Daily Pre-shift Checklist Requirements for Welder: - Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma with shop related courses and prior production/assembly experience - Technical school course work in welding or prior welding experience is necessary. - Strong Mechanical aptitude is necessary - A solid understanding of Aluminum, TIG, and MIG welding concepts and processes is required - Must be able to read a ruler and be able to operate common hand tools, air tools, drills, sanders, grinders, etc - Communicates with contacts typically within the immediate work unit on matters that typically involve obtaining or providing information requiring little explanation or interpretation - Wear safety attire and protective gear daily - Usually work indoors. This site may not be temperature controlled - Often exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels - Are exposed to hazardous equipment on a weekly basis - Regularly required to use hands and fingers to assemble units by fastening component parts, some of which have sharp metal edges - Required to stand, stoop, bend, and occasionally reach above the shoulders - Frequently lift objects up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 lbs - Specific vision abilities required by this job such as close vision, distance, color, and peripheral vision - Depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the Midwest.
