Unit Bio: MMC's Vascular Access unit is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join their team. This person will support adult and pediatric patients for all MMC units. Competitive candidates for this position have prior vascular access experience and certified in vascular access but will consider experience in areas such as: SCU, PACU, oncology, IV Therapy or home health Schedule: 12 hours shifts (1900-0730) Summary: On the vascular access team, the C.N.A. role is the backbone of the service and requires the ideal candidate to be organized, flexible, and a team player. The C.N.A. fulfills the observer role during PICC insertions assisting the nurse with patient positioning, handing sterile supplies into a sterile field, and partnering with the nurse to ensure adherence to elements of the sterile procedure. The C.N.A. also plays a role in organizing/managing supplies in the supply room and vascular access carts frequently used by the team. This 10 hour shift position currently requires a 1 in 4 weekend rotation. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): 1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. 2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. 3. Experience: One year of relevant experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Certified Nursing Assistant I role.
