Description

The Digital Media Strategist is responsible for developing and implementing digital marketing strategies that enhance Operation Military Family's (OMF) outreach, engagement, and program enrollment efforts. This role is critical in managing social media, digital advertising, email campaigns, and content creation to support the King County Veterans Program (KCVP) OMF Community Outreach Program. The strategist will ensure strong digital visibility, audience engagement, and data-driven marketing efforts to help veterans, service members, and their families connect with vital resources and programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:




  • Digital Strategy & Content Development:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that aligns with OMF's mission and program objectives.
    • Create and manage a content calendar for social media, email, and digital outreach, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging across platforms (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).
    • Designed and developed marketing materials (brochures, flyers, digital toolkits) for military installations, community centers, and online distribution.
    • Optimize SEO, paid advertising, and website content to improve program awareness and lead generation.


  • Outreach & Digital Engagement Support:

    • Create digital marketing assets (fact sheets, educational resources, partner materials) to support community outreach efforts.
    • Develop email and digital follow-ups for participants, community partners, and potential program enrollees.
    • Manage the distribution of digital resources to community organizations and stakeholders.




  • Social Media & Digital Outreach:

    • Develop and implement social media campaigns featuring success stories, program highlights, event promotions, and veteran support resources.
    • Analyze social media engagement and adjust strategies to optimize outreach among transitioning service members, veterans, and their families.
    • Email marketing and automated follow-ups are utilized to maintain ongoing engagement with program participants, community partners, and donors.


  • Email & Newsletter Campaign Management:

    • Plan, develop, and execute email marketing campaigns, including recruitment emails for potential program participants, engagement emails to maintain communication with current enrollees, and quarterly newsletters featuring program updates, success stories, and resources for veterans.
    • Ensure email outreach is aligned with overall digital marketing strategies to maintain a consistent message across all platforms.


  • Surveys, Feedback & Program Optimization:

    • Develop, distribute, and manage surveys for post-program participant feedback, post-employment success tracking, and partner engagement.
    • Analyze and report survey results to OMF leadership to help refine program offerings and outreach strategies.
    • Track and measure Net Promoter Scores (NPS) and participant satisfaction to evaluate program success.


  • Analytics & Performance Reporting:

    • Monitor and assess key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of digital campaigns and outreach efforts.
    • Prepare quarterly reports covering social media engagement trends, email campaign performance, survey insights, and participant feedback.
    • Collaborate with the Project Manager & Data Analyst to refine data-driven marketing strategies and improve campaign performance.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing, social media management, or content strategy.
  • Expertise in strategic communications, brand management, and creative problem-solving.
  • Experience in crisis communications, digital and social media management, and media and public relations.
  • Strong proficiency in graphic design, editing, writing, and creative strategy.
  • Proven experience with project management, planning, and coordination across multiple teams.
  • Experience working with veterans, military personnel, or nonprofit organizations is a plus.
  • Strong background in strategic communications, planning, and project execution.
  • Experience providing mentorship and leadership development for individuals and teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage public relations efforts effectively.
  • Expertise in managing digital campaigns and overseeing multimedia content development.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:



  • Associate's degree in the Social Sciences or related fields
