Sterile Processing Technician

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a Temporary Sterile Processing Service Technician at VA New York Harbor Healthcare System (VA NYHHS) in Manhattan, New York.

This position offers:

8 hour shifts - Includes weekends (scheduled to work on an as needed basis)
• Work based on needs of the department
• Exciting opportunity to care for our active-duty military, veterans, and their families

Duties:

• Working within Decontamination, Case Cart, Equipment, Sterilization, Preparation and Assembly and High Level Disinfection Areas
• Receive and dispose of regulated medical waste, general waste and soiled linen.
• Comply with OSHA regulations governing the wearing of personal protective equipment at all times when working in the decontamination.

Requirements

• Education: Possess a High School Diploma, Completion of a central sterile supply training course.
• Minimum of 3 years recent sterile Processing Technician experience
• Certification: Current certification by the International Association of Healthcare Central Services. Materials Management or current certification by the National Institute of Health Care Sterile Processing and Distribution Personnel.
