LOCATION & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: This position can be based anywhere in the continental US and will include weekly travel in the US for open enrollment in the month of October. RESPONSIBILITIES: Human Resources: (40%)
- Workday Help Tickets: Manage and respond to HR, Leave of Absence, and Benefits tickets. Assists employees with questions on leave, PTO, disability, benefits enrollment, coverage, and deductions.
- Lead New Hire Onboarding: Manage and facilitate weekly onboarding sessions.
- Resolve Employee Data Issues: Manage and correct incomplete I-9s, SSN errors, E-Verify issues, direct deposit updates, and missing life event or dependent verification.
- Respond to Legal Requests: Respond to audits and record subpoenas, escalating to HR leadership as needed.
- Ensure Accurate HR Data Processing: Manage new hires, terminations, demographic updates, and benefit enrollments with accuracy and timeliness.
- Support Unemployment Claims: Collect and provide employment data, including hours, duties, status changes, corrective actions, resignations, and performance reviews for HR and Legal.
Benefits & Leave Administration: (40%)
- Oversee Benefits Administration: Manage daily benefit transactions and processes.
- Reconcile Benefits Data: Perform quality checks and reconciliations of benefits eligibility information.
- Manage Leave & Disability Claims: Partner with third-party administrators to handle federal/state leaves, disability claims, and coordinate FMLA, personal, parental, military, workers' comp, state-required leaves, and ADA processes.
- Support Return-to-Work & DOT Compliance: Assist with return-to-work procedures and support the DOT compliance team.
- Collaborate with Payroll: Work with payroll on medical support notices, state and employee correspondence, paid parental leave, benefit premium balances, and other LOA tasks.
- Support Open Enrollment & Special Projects: Assist with Open Enrollment and Specialist Projects as needed.
Projects: (10%)
- Performs related work and/or projects as apparent or assigned.
Growth/Innovation: (10%)
- Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Seek innovative solutions and recommend high-quality, cost-effective programs to meet employees' benefit needs.
- Evaluate and Improve Processes: Proactively assess internal processes and recommend improvements to enhance the employee experience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of Benefits Administration experience with common plans such as medical, dental, vison, life insurance, 401k, etc.
- 3-5 years of Leave Administration experience including demonstrated experience in FMLA, State leaves, ADA, etc.
- Ability to provide an exceptional employee experience; to lead with empathy and maintain high level of confidentiality
- Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws
- Ability to work in a fast paced team environment with creativity, problem solving, poise, and a high level of emotional intelligence
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and communication technology.
- Willingness to travel weekly for open enrollment in October.
