Job Description We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plasma machines, laser machines, press brakes, CNC equipment, and other manufacturing machinery. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime, applying Lean and 5S methodologies, and tracking key maintenance metrics such as Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) to improve reliability and efficiency.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements Essential Functions: * Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on plasma machines, lasers, press brakes, CNC equipment, and other machinery. * Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and implement effective solutions. * Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. * Apply Lean and 5S principles to optimize workspaces and maintenance processes. * Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and enhance equipment performance. * Track and analyze MTBF and MTTR metrics to improve machine reliability and reduce downtime. * Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, part inventories, and performance metrics. * Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Skills and Abilities: * Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components. * Experience troubleshooting CNC, laser cutting, and press brake machinery. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. * Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and hand/power tools. * Understanding of Lean manufacturing, 5S methodology, and maintenance KPIs such as MTBF and MTTR. * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education and Experience: * High school diploma or GED required; technical school or associate degree in a related field preferred. * 3/4+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment. * Experience with CNC equipment, plasma cutting, laser machines, and press brakes is highly desirable. * Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, reliability best practices, and maintenance metric tracking. Physical Demands: * Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders or scaffolding. * Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally heavier loads with assistance. * Perform repetitive motions and use hand/power tools for extended periods. * Work in environments with loud noise, dust, grease, and varying temperatures. * Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights when required. * Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety gla MiTek Perks:
