The University of Virginia Darden School of Business, one of the world's leading business schools, seeks a Data Analytics & Reporting Analyst on the Strategic IT Data & Analytics team. The position serves as the primary data/business analyst on the data and analytics team, interfacing with users and telling Darden's story through data. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA. Responsibilities: Requirements Gathering
Collaborate with business stakeholders to capture and document data user stories, use cases, and workflows Create conceptual data models that express data and modeling requirements Create requirements (source-to-target mapping) for new and revised ELT data pipelines
Data Analysis
Lead the enterprise data request process, build and validate data sets to ensure alignment with business objectives Perform statistical analysis on datasets to identify trends, correlations, and patterns that inform strategic decisions
Quality Assurance
Review the output of data pipelines to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with defined business requirements Conduct the UAT process for Power BI reports/dashboards Manage the Power BI deployment process
Power BI Development
Develop advanced analytics models and solutions utilizing SQL and Python, focusing on data transformation and analysis Build compelling data stories and dashboards Serve as the technical and business point-of-contact for analytics reports & dashboards Provide training and mentoring to Power BI citizen developers in the business units
Power Platform Development
Rankings Process Management
Oversee the data collection and submission process for business school rankings, collaborating with various departments to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with internal review processes Conducts business process review, improvement efforts and implementation for the rankings. With an efficient, customer-service oriented approach, work across departments to collect data and conduct enterprise-level analysis relevant to various enterprise strategy projects on a regular and as-needed basis
Education and Professional Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least three years of professional experience in data analytics or a similar role. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree Strong knowledge and experience with Power BI, along with other business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, etc.) Knowledge and experience working with SQL and Python Experience with statistical modeling and techniques, including regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and predictive modeling preferred. Strong ability to design, document, and communicate complex models and analytics findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, building strong relationships with stakeholders across departments to drive successful analytics outcomes and ensure alignment with business goals Proven ability to be self-motivated, self-managing, and organized, with a strong ability to adapt and solve complex problems
