Colocation Project Manager

The Colocation Project Manager will be responsible for implementing engineering designs to install customer colocation products and services - cabinets, cages, power, backbone communication cables & panels.?Project Manager will own end-to-end milestone management, budget tracking & reporting and identification & resolution of issues to ensure on time, on budget and on specification completion of projects. An effective PM will work closely with engineers, track & report real-time updates and have detailed knowledge of assigned projects.

Responsibilities

• Overall Project Management
• Develop overall plan for the project
• Maintain project budget forecasts
• Apply customer priorities to project
• Critical path identification and key issue resolution
• Vendor relationship management
• Anticipation, mitigation and escalation of project issues as required
• Manage project to ensure that all metrics are met. On-time, and on-budget tracking are critical company measurements for customer deliveries.
• Transition Management and Documentation
• Ensure clean hand off of completed work to Operations and Customer
• Ensure redlines & power assignments are properly recorded and placed in appropriate repository
• Ensure an appropriate close out package is built and reviewed prior to delivery to Operations
• Ensure delivery of all documentation contractually required.
• Project Budget
• Set up and manager budgets, purchase requests/orders, invoicing and documentation of receivables
• Pro-actively manage budget variances and overruns
• Notify management and provide analysis of cost overruns
• Communication
• Set up and attend periodic status calls with Service Delivery, SBC team and Operations to notify of progress and issues
• Have periodic calls with customers as required
• Daily calls if required to manage critical path items that could severely jeopardize delivery timeline
• Management of project related change controls
• Engage with Product teams - proactively and reactively - to ensure funding of customer opportunities
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering field preferred
• Project management experience, preferably in the telecommunications / data center industry
• Experience managing capital projects > $250K
• Must be able to manage multiple aggressive design construction schedules
• Must be able to understand and read construction documents
• Working knowledge of Datacenter infrastructure - Power, Cooling, Security, Communications
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, AutoCAD Viewers software
• Travel is a requirement - Must have current US drivers license and passport
• The employee will be required occasionally to meet with customers and internal support teams to review project scope and to ensure positive communication is maintained
