Intralox, LLC currently has a Senior Mechanical Engineer position available in the New Product Development Department. This individual will be primarily responsible for contributing to the development of new products by creating methods, tools, and equipment devised to evaluate the performance of prototype and production designs.

Responsibilities
  • Basic project management (develop and maintain project scope, task lists, timelines)
  • Communicate and interface with team members, representatives from other departments, and internal customers regarding problem/opportunity definitions, project scope, and project status
  • Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical components and systems by applying principles of general physics, mechanics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, vibration, acoustics, and material science in accordance with mechanical engineering standards and design formulas.
  • Develop test plans to evaluate the performance of materials, components, and systems
  • Conduct and participate in ongoing design reviews and brainstorming sessions
  • Specify, design, build, and operate test equipment in the following areas:
    • research the desired performance requirements and determine how to achieve measurable results
    • develop specifications for equipment purchased from vendors
    • develop conceptual and detailed designs for test equipment custom built in-house
    • create CAD models and drawings of equipment designs
    • specify and order components
    • develop and implement machine control and data acquisition systems
    • assemble, troubleshoot, and qualify in-house designed and purchased equipment
    • maintain, troubleshoot, and repair existing test equipment
    • train and assist users on the operation of test equipment
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • 5+ years engineering experience
  • Solid modeling experience in SolidWorks, Pro-E, Inventor, or similar software
  • Hands-on approach to problem solving
  • Machine design experience
