Research Support Specialist

Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Experience in operating equipment, carrying out test procedures, and using special methods for data collation and interpretation.

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced coursework or degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Biophysics, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, or similar discipline.

Brief Description of Duties:
Within defined test or analytical protocols, operate equipment, carry out test procedures, as well as collate and interpret data using special methods in support of a research project or program for Dr. Eric Josephs in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.

The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. The successful incumbent must possess the ability to demonstrate professional competence in research activities

• Conduct experiments; provide technical laboratory support, and/or animal handling to assist with experiments conducted.
• Perform literature search; staying current in the field by reading and discussing the literature and experimental results with the supervisor and/or PI.
• Collect data, record observations measurements and prepare reports for review of supervisor and or PI.
• Other duties as assigned.
