An exciting opportunity exists at Barnes for a Sales Development Representative in its Force and Motion Control SBU, Maumee, OH. The ideal candidate will support outbound sales and work cooperatively with customer service, sales and the divisional team. This position will reach out to prospects, quote, follow up and general outreach to assigned customers. The focus will be directed toward customers with potential and prospects that have shown interest in ASR products with the goal of growing sales and a focus on reducing excess inventory.

Core Responsibilities:



  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, (written, verbal, and presentation) across a variety of channels (e-mail, social media, phone, etc.).
  • Outbound communication to customers and prospects.
  • Meet required daily sales activities, i.e. Outbound sales calls and virtual meetings
  • Respond, engage, and qualify quotes.
  • Log activities and opportunities in CRM.
  • Grow pipeline by identifying opportunities through prospecting, cold calling and account management.
  • Creating business relationships that have a lasting impact on customers.
  • Driven, self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency for reaching key deliverables
  • Research accounts identifying key individuals within the company.
  • Generate interest that will stimulate sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to maintain a strategic sales approach
  • Sharing customer feedback with Sales, Marketing, and Product Manager
  • Performs all duties and tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in inside sales, with emphasis on professional telephone techniques.
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
  • Ability to understand basic spring terminology and design, drawings, and specifications to effectively convey spring knowledge to customers.
  • Solid verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong PC aptitude in a Windows environment required, specifically Microsoft Office (Excel and Word). Ability to learn other software packages and maintain an awareness of technology advancements.
  • Excellent organizational skills, work independently, multi-tasking work assignments and projects that drive sales and process improvements
  • Ability to work in a team environment with peers, senior management, and other functional areas


Education Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline required. May consider equivalent experience.
  • Combination of education and years' experience acceptable.
