Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Director of the Analytic Hub will support the company's efforts to better enable the proliferation and deployment of high quality, effective enterprise-wide analytics. The successful candidate will be able to evaluate business-related analytic asks against organizational priorities and synthesize these with enterprise data and analytic capabilities, facilitating the appropriate deployment and delivery of analytics.

This role is eligible for our Flex persona

The Analytic Hub has two core functions:

Analytical Work:

  • Design and implement a process to accept, clarify, triage, and assign analytic requests submitted by business units to appropriate major analytic units (PMI, BAA, NPC)

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce an appropriate quality control/peer review framework across the analytic community;

  • Create and maintain a well-organized, searchable inventory of current and past analytic tasks that transit the Analytic Hub, including descriptive characteristics of each (e.g., topic, costs, labor, quality, and ultimate effectiveness)

  • Identify and apply appropriate quality control and/or peer review to minor analytic groups scattered throughout the company

  • Lead a group of analysts that will support prioritized enterprise-wide analytics;

  • Identify and document stable, well-functioning, repeated analytic requests that do not require new intake and triage

  • Partner with Enterprise Technology to identify analytic elements of Portfolio requests and apply appropriate triage, tracking, and quality control to each

Data Standards:

  • Partner closely with Enterprise Technology to develop, support and enhance a best-in-class data standards infrastructure;

  • Actively participate in the Enterprise Data Governance team, playing the role of Data Producer on behalf of the analytic community for any Data Domain or analytic asset that is leveraged broadly across multiple analytic functional areas;

  • Participate in data governance decisions that are relevant to analytics

  • Identify, research, and remediate data problems that limit analytic effectiveness

  • Co-lead a new Data Standards Committee

  • Facilitate prioritization of changes/additions to the Analytic Data Hub (ADH-which is a data warehouse distinct from the Analytic Hub)

  • Evaluate and track the performance of analytic software packages that are used by major and minor analytic units.

In this role, you will:

  • Convene and be guided by an Analytics Steering Committee comprised of leaders of the major analytic units.

  • Monitor demand for and supply of analytic resources and, with Analytic Steering Committee oversight, make budget requests based on these data.

  • Train business units in how to submit analytic requests to the Analytic Hub and help create training curricula for new analytic hires and for existing associates in the use of new analytic tools.

  • With guidance from the Analytics Steering Committee, design and execute a strategy to explore and, when appropriate, adopt cutting-edge analytic methods, interfacing with analytic experts outside the company (e.g., academics, researchers, consultants).

Key Accountabilities:

  • Design and implement analytic request triage process

  • Design and implement analytic quality control/peer review system

  • Design and maintain organized, searchable inventory of current and past analytic tasks

  • Convene Analytics Steering Committee

  • Recommend enterprise-wide data and analytic strategies

  • Facilitate improvements in data governance, with primary responsibility for remediating data problems that limit analytic units' ability to meet business needs

Education/Relevant Experience:

  • 8 or more years of health care business and analytic experience with a BA/BS degree required, advanced degree preferred.

  • Training and experience in program management, including in matrixed environments.

  • Familiarity with descriptive, predictive, and evaluative analytic methods

  • Experience in clarifying and evaluating business requests for analytic work

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization and with key constituents.

  • High degree of organizational astuteness and ability to successfully interact with leaders at all levels.

  • Highly adaptable and creative with an openness to assuming new roles and responsibilities as they arise.

  • Flexibility to work within a changing environment.

  • High degree of initiative; ability to work both independently and within a team.
