Maintenance Supervisor (Weekends)

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all warehouse equipment and facilities. This role ensures that all machinery, systems, and infrastructure are functioning efficiently and safely. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a team of maintenance technicians and coordinate with other departments to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.

Key responsibilities:



  • Team Leadership: Supervise, lead, and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional development. Support of team during all shifts.


  • Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.


  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Oversee and perform repairs on machinery and equipment, diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions.


  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and safety inspections. Prepare reports for management as required.


  • Budget Management: Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.


  • Safety Leadership: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.


  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments to plan and execute maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.


  • Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance services.


  • Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper storage.


  • Project Management: Lead or oversee major maintenance projects, including equipment installations, upgrades, and facility improvements.


  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness. Drive the department for optimum productivity while maintaining high standards for quality.



Skills and abilities:



  • Ability to complete work assignments and projects in a timely and efficient manner with minimal follow up.


  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.


  • Ability to effectively give and receive instructions.


  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to train and direct others to complete assigned tasks.


  • Must be reliable; able to maintain an excellent attendance record.


  • Must be Guitar Center certified to operate all powered equipment and able to satisfy the certification process within the first 90 days of employment.


  • Must have a positive attitude and demonstrate support for company goals.


  • Must demonstrate a strong focus on safety, quality, and maintenance parts and supplies inventory management.


  • CMMS experience preferred.


  • A solid maintenance background is required, with some experience in multiple areas, such as: conveyor systems, electric forklifts (Raymond), electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, overhead doors, welding and fabrication.



Educational/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & Requirements:



  • High School diploma or equivalent.


  • Prior warehouse experience preferred.


  • Trade school or technical training.


  • Prior leadership experience is a plus.


  • Ability to read schematics and drawings, for usage in troubleshooting and other action.


  • Computer experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook a must.


  • Familiar with OSHA Safety Guidelines.


  • Valid driver's license required.



Physical Requirements:




  • This is a hands-on role, requiring performance of preventative maintenance and repair, including other tasks as assigned.


  • Ability to lift, pull, reach, carry, push, stand, walk, stoop, and bend for extended periods.


  • Ability to work in the air, up to heights of 50 feet with assistance of mechanical lift equipment or platform.


  • Continuous mental and/or visual attention; the work is either repetitive or diversified requiring constant alertness in a warehouse environment.


  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and, occasionally, up to 100 lbs. with assistance.


  • Must be willing to flex to other shifts for up to 180-day training periods.


  • May be assigned to another shift once mechanic-level skills have been demonstrated.


  • Must be flexible to working overtime, which is sometimes mandatory.

Work Environment:




  • Work is mainly conducted in a warehouse environment, with periodic activities outside the building


  • Exposure to environmental elements may be required from time to time.


  • The noise level is moderate.
