Join us as a QC Supervisor

This position is primarily responsible for ensuring the quality standards of products are met through the direct supervision of the Quality Control team and associated functions. The QC Supervisor provides technical and professional guidance to help achieve organizational goals while incorporating strategic and long-term planning in coordination with manager.

In this role you'll make an impact by:



  • Prioritizing, coordinating, and supervising daily team functions.
  • Overseeing daily operations, including sampling and testing of products, and supporting the release team with approval and release of non-conforming materials and products.
  • Fulfilling supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; providing timely feedback; appraising performance; rewarding, recognizing, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Supporting and cascading company and department strategy, incorporating priorities into individual and team goals.
  • Setting timely, challenging, and achievable goals for employees, and assessing and improving individual and team productivity through regular one-on-one meetings.
  • Acting as the QC first point of contact for their assigned site, supporting site leadership needs related to QC, which may include representing QC at site management-level meetings.
  • Driving a safety and quality-oriented culture by ensuring team members adhere to quality, food safety, food defense, GMP, GLP, safety systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitating development and training of team members with an emphasis on employee engagement.
  • Leading continuous improvement for the department, developing, maintaining, driving, and communicating department metrics to measure performance and identify trends or areas of improvement.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Being responsible for laboratory equipment and service agreements, where applicable.
  • Building relationship equity with all team members and stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and internal customer groups or departments.
  • Updating, developing, and implementing laboratory-controlled forms and procedures.
  • Facilitating effective department and cross-functional team meetings.
  • Managing employee data, timesheet approvals, and time off requests in HRIS.



To succeed you must hold:



  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Possess strong communication and interaction skills to create relationships & build engagement.
  • Fundamental understanding of GMP & GLP and quality management systems.
  • Fundamental understanding of the laboratory procedures, processes, and assays performed.
  • Ability to read and follow technical procedures and write reports.
  • Ability to work and lead effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to make administrative, procedural or employment-related decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to perform basic statistical analysis or data mining.
  • Self-starter, motivated, and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Possess problem solving skills and understanding of quality improvement tools and techniques.
  • Possess working knowledge of continuous improvement principles, lab equipment and tests.
  • Ability to learn or a working knowledge in Microsoft Office, SAP and LIMS data management system.
  • These characteristics are normally acquired through a Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, and one to five years of supervisory experience preferably in a lab environment.
