Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

This position, which sits in the Digital Channels area of Sales & Service Technology at FCB, is responsible for all phases of data processing system projects, from requirements definition to installation. Leads technical efforts in the development, implementation, and maintenance of complex systems. Develops test plans, software, and procedures that improve processing capabilities. Supports productions systems by resolving complicated issues and ensuring ongoing functionality. Serves as a technical expert and may provide a leadership role for less experienced associates in the work group.


Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Development: Be actively involved in software development, code review, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Angular JS Expertise: Leverage deep knowledge of Angular JS to develop and maintain responsive web applications.
  • Java and Spring Development: Demonstrate strong proficiency in Java and Spring to build scalable and efficient backend systems.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and innovative development environment by working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and train junior developers, fostering their growth and skills development.
  • Project Management: Manage software development projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance

Technical skills:

  • Proven experience as a Lead Developer or in a similar role.
  • Strong technical skills in Angular JS, Java, and Spring.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in mentoring and leading development teams.
  • Project management experience is a plus.

Additional skills:

  • Java 11 and above, preferably includes Java 17 familiarity
  • Java based Microservices frameworks
  • Spring and Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring integration, Spring batch
  • Maven and/or Gradle
  • Angular JS (React JS or similar JS based UI framework, nice to have)
  • Integration and interface design with SOAP and REST based APIs
  • Microsoft SQL DB/JDBC database design and data access integration from service layers
  • Docker images and containerization
  • Kubernetes and/or cloud based container management eco-systems (familiarity with Rancher a plus)
  • Any certifications around Java/other stacks development for cloud deployments or Kubernetes or CI/CD pipelines, a plus
  • Application monitoring and troubleshooting tools like Dynatrace etc.
  • IntelliJ and/or Eclipse IDE and related tooling and integration.
  • Git based source control and knowledge of GitOps
  • Agile methodology and sprint-based delivery
  • Confluence and JIRA, and other integrations like Synapse RT/ALM tools
  • MQ messaging and integration
  • Application Integration SAML/OIDC based SSO
  • Working with Linux based environments and shell scripts.
  • Azure DevOps 2019 or above, knowledge of code promotion via CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps 2019. Jenkins familiarity optional.
  • Code quality metrics and code review/quality control process knowledge and automation tools for pipeline integration; SonarQube or similar tool knowledge
  • Artifactory or similar repository for managing application artifacts
  • Secure coding practices and understanding OWASP/CVE remediation
  • Performance and automation tools and process understanding.
  • Service delivery and production support knowledge. Familiarity with ServiceNow, a plus
  • Automated batch and file processing knowledge; Ctl M knowledge a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry standards for Banking, Treasury and Payment systems - ISO 20022 and/or EDI etc.
  • Python and/or DotNet Core knowledge a plus

The base pay for this position is generally between $105,000 and $160,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
