The Logistics Area Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the transportation, distribution, and supply chain operations for State and Stacy Trucking. This position will manage fleet operations, monitor key performance metrics, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Logistics Area Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring industry-leading safety, timely deliveries, cost-effective logistics solutions, and seamless support for overall business operations.

Responsibilities
The Area Manager will:
The Logistics Area Manager will:
- Support the safety program by enforcing safety regulations, providing training, and administering corporate safety protocols.
- Oversee site logistics, direct truck ingress/egress, and manage scheduling with internal and external customers to optimize efficiency.
- Work with inside sales to estimate bids, review accuracy and profitability, and establish pricing parameters for truck rates.
- Set performance standards for brokers, manage relationships, and identify material haulage opportunities for company-owned and broker fleets.
- Analyze project specifications, address field issues, and implement process improvements to meet customer commitments.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs), maintain job site records, and audit data analysis and calculations for earth-moving projects.
- Develop trucking budgets, annual plans, and identify backhaul opportunities to optimize cost-effectiveness
- Act as a key liaison between management, support functions (i.e., dispatch, sales), and customers, ensuring expectations are met and relationships maintained.
- Attend job site meetings as company representative, ensure Levy Dispatch and trucking teams have necessary resources, and review site conditions before submitting haul rates.
- Train, support, and develop employees in the trucking division to enhance operational effectiveness
- Oversee and coordinate all Michigan Trucking operations for Levy owned and brokered fleets
- Perform other duties and projects assigned
Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
- General knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations and the ability to implement the appropriate related programs and controls
- Ability to think strategically and collaborate on problem-solving
- Excellent people skills to successfully work with internal support, external customers, and operational personnel
- Ability to train, support, and coordinate personnel
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format individually and in group settings
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Oracle (preferred)
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to safely operate motor vehicle
- Ability to work outside, climbing, crawling and tolerating noise and temperature variations
- Valid driver's license
